The Oki B4550 is a mono laser printer in the B4500 series, which shares cartridges across 4 models.
It takes two black cartridges that differ only in capacity: the 43502301 at about 3,000 pages and the TYPE 9 at about 7,000. At our prices that is 0.5¢ a page against 0.2¢, so the high-yield cartridge costs less to run unless you print very little.
The drum is a separate part on this printer. The 43501901 is rated for about 25,000 pages, so it outlasts several toner cartridges and only needs replacing when the printer reports drum life, not every time you change toner.

Does the B4550 have a separate drum?
Yes. The 43501901 drum unit is a separate part rated for about 25,000 pages. Replace it when the printer reports drum life, not when you change toner.
Does using a compatible cartridge void the B4550 warranty?
No. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act a manufacturer cannot void your warranty because you used a third-party cartridge. If one of ours damages the printer, our printer damage protection covers the repair.
