Questions about the Color LaserJet Pro M255dw
Which cartridges does the M255dw take?
It takes four cartridges, one each of black, cyan, magenta and yellow. HP lists the HP 206A series (black approximately 1,350 pages; cyan, magenta and yellow approximately 1,250 pages each) with higher-yield HP 206X versions also available.
Does it print on both sides automatically?
Yes. HP lists automatic two-sided printing as standard on the M255dw, fed from a 250-sheet input tray. The printer is rated at up to 22 ppm in both black and colour.
What happens if I fit a non-HP cartridge?
HP's reference guide for this printer lists 'Unauthorized cartridge.', 'Incompatible cartridge.' and 'Used or counterfeit cartridge in use. Replace with a new cartridge.' as control-panel errors. HP's stated remedy is to take out and reinsert the cartridge, and if the error still appears, go to www.hp.com/support/ljM255.
